In 2024, Southwestern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission completed updates to the housing studies that were originally completed in 2018. The purpose of the studies remained the same - to guide near-term policies for communities, counties, and the region in order to address existing and future housing issues in southwest Wisconsin. The 2024 studies updated the demographic, workforce, and housing data, but went further to analyze each municipal zoning ordinance, provide development case studies, and recommend tangible implementation tools to encourage the development of affordable housing for residents across income brackets.
