Southwestern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission (SWWRPC) has completed an online service to help communities manage their local cemeteries and provide access to the public wishing to conduct family research. With the use of GIS mapping technology, SWWRPC undertook this effort to modernize and manage cemetery records while providing an online platform for those who wish to search for the location of the monuments of family and friends.
This service includes a user-friendly search engine that enables users to sift through information on the deceased, making the burial location information easily accessible. Monument photos and available obituaries are also provided by this service, giving users all available information when searching for loved ones.
