Both the five-year CEDS plan and the annual updates to the five-year plan serve as guides for economic development efforts in southwest Wisconsin. They describe specific public and private investment projects and also function to enhance opportunities for the region’s communities, and other eligible entities, to receive financial assistance from the Economic Development Administration (EDA).
The CEDS are prepared in conformance with the EDA Reauthorization Act of 2004 and are consistent with the EDA Code of Federal Regulations, 13 CFR, Chapter III, Part 303–Planning Investments and Comprehensive Economic Development Strategies, as published in the Federal Register (Vol. 71, No. 187) on September 27, 2006. Preparation of these reports is financed in part by funding from the EDA of the U.S. Department of Commerce.
