Alyssa serves as an Assistant Planner for SWWRPC. She assists with a variety of planning projects including housing studies and strategic and comprehensive plans.

Alyssa grew up in a small town in central Iowa. After high school, she attended the University of Iowa and received her bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering. While she enjoyed her time in the College of Engineering, Alyssa sought a deeper connection to communities. This led her to pursuing her master’s degree in urban and regional planning. With focuses in housing, community development, and GIS, Alyssa is prepared to assist with a range of projects.

After calling Iowa City home for six years, Alyssa is excited to explore the Driftless Area through hiking, biking, and paddleboarding. Alyssa also enjoys reading, baking, and volunteering in her free time.
